CHICAGO – December 1, 2011 – Cramer-Krasselt, the second-largest independent marketing and communications agency in the U.S. with annual billings of $1 billion, has announced that Jeff Johnson, 59, will be returning to the agency this month to resume leadership of its New York office as executive vice president and general manager. He replaces Anne Bologna, 54, who is leaving the agency to take a corporate staff position with MDC Partners.
Johnson rejoins C-K after a year-and-a-half sabbatical, having left the agency last summer to dedicate his time to writing another book following the release of his first book, “The Hourglass Solution.”
During Johnson’s previous tenure from 2006 – 2010, he was responsible for doubling the size of the office, with the addition of clients such as Benjamin Moore, Burlington Coat Factory, CareFirst BlueCross Blue Shield and Direct General, as well as initiating last year’s Benihana win. C-K established its presence in the New York market in 2004.
“Jeff was a driving force behind C-K New York’s rapid growth over the previous five years, helping build a very strong team that resulted in award-winning campaigns and major wins including all the clients we have today,” said Peter Krivkovich, president and chief executive officer of Cramer-Krasselt. “While we are sad to see Anne go and wish her well in her new endeavors, we know the agency is in the best of hands with Jeff back at the helm. He is that wonderful amalgamation of insights and strategy that come from a rich, diverse background in both marketing and psychology.”
“Not many people have the opportunity to take a break, write a book, then return to the company that you love,” said Johnson. “I am excited to be coming home to C-K.”
